Ageing of Japan
Japan
has population issue which is aging
population with a declining birthrate. The reason for aging
population is progress of medical technology resulted in improving average
lifespan. I don`t believe that is a bad thing but declining birthrate is also serious
problem.
This
serious problem is based on uneasiness which people think about childbirth. As
advancement in society of women and economic stagnation, people have no money
for child rearing and two-income family
increase. Even if people have money for child
rearing, they have no time for child rearing. People need child care facility,
but child welfare facility in Japan is almost full. This factor makes them
difficult to have child and be unwilling for childbirth.
Problems
Aging causes a lot of serious problems. To make
matters worth, in Japan, there
had been grown falling of birthrate. Because of these matters, depopulation of whole society
started.Diminution of the youth means diminution
of the work force of the country, so industry of Japan is gradually declining.
The youth would have to help the old by economic support. Then, income of the youth
would go down and more painful to have
a baby and bring up children. In short, many people are going to be not able to afford to have children. This
is a vicious circle that difficult
to get out of. Finally, this country will be ruined
In foreign country
But how
do other countries improve it? In Denmark, birth rate was recovered 1.9 in 2013
because the government invested in child care and education. Education
expenditure is free from elementary school until university, and the government
supply about 70,000 yen to college students in case they couldn't study
seriously because they have to work part-time for budget. But it is not
necessary that any countries could solve the problem by this way. For example,
Australia government supply money for families and children since 1980, but
birth rate tends to decrease yet. In Japan, the birth rates is also very low. Many
developed countries want to solve this problem and try to increase birth rate.
But there might be no definite answer which could solve this problem
completely. And aging in Japan is extremely serious. So we have to improve this
situation soon.
Solution
It is
difficult to prevent increasing aging people, so we think that we should
prevent declining birth rates. Increasing young people can support aging
society. To increase a birthrate, it is
necessary to make the society where working women are able to bear and educate children.
Therefore we suggest following ways to solve this issue.
・Increasing childcare center
・Economical support such as childcare allowance
・Allowing more and more childcare leave
These
ways promote that we have a child. But this issue is complicated. As aging society
is connected with many things such as woman labor issue, elderly care, and
recession, it is difficult to solve this issue. Therefore we must think to
solve this issue seriously more and more.
